Choices Burnt

The candle was willing to lighten up my room, but a sudden shiver ran down my spine, remembering how the rancid kerosene burnt everything- to the last tile. Now all I find is- it was never the oil; but my dumb choice of using it brought me this turmoil. The poor candle's potential, capable of spreading its warm rays, was thrown on the shelf, tied with lace. The doubt in my own choices didn't let it rise above my shadowed days.
